Champagne Waterfall

On the first of the two days at sea (Day 9) for the return voyage to Fort Lauderdale, a Champagne Waterfall was erected in the Main Atrium of the Ship. In a twist of fate, this was by far the night where the ship experienced the roughest seas of the trip. Waves were in the 13 - 20 foot range; however, the ship only rocked moderately.

It was obviously not the first time the crew constructed this type of structure as it didn't move a bit. While they were building it, they sprayed champagne periodically, which must have served to solidy the waterfall to some degree.

This night was also the second of the two formal nights as can be seen by the upscale level of dress in the photos. You could participate in pouring champagne at the top of the structure and have your photo taken with the Maitre'D.

Complimentary champagne was distributed to all who wanted to indulge, as well as streamers which were released on the crowd below. One of the children felt a need to wrap himself up in as many streamers that he could get his hands on. He was having a great time, as was everyone else.
